Edward's POV

A few days ago, I was invited to a party in the Sapphire royal lycan pack. It was a way for my family to see if I'm well because they knew not finding my mate tormented me. Reaching the party, my inner lycan kept stirring in my head. I inhaled, only to catch the sweet fragrance of my mate. I searched desperately for the owner but what I saw made me enraged. Caliana's scent was coming from alpha Blanco, the alpha of the Grey Lycan pack. I attacked him immediately without a care that people were terrified. From the looks of it, he knew exactly why I attacked him.

We questioned him endlessly about my mate's whereabouts but the b*st*rd refused to give us her location, even when the king threaten him. All he said is that Caliana stayed in his pack for some time but left not long ago, I knew he was lying because her scent on him was strong which only meant they spent a lot of time together. I attacked him over and over again until they had to inject me with wolfsbane to tame my feral beast.

Coming back home, my brothers informed me that she has been back in her pack for a while now. I had to go and see her. I didn't want to cause chaos like I did last time so I patiently waited for her to invite me into her territory but my heart shattered when Levy told me she didn't want to see me,

" I'm sorry, alpha, but she's busy and will make an appointment to see you when she can," Levy wasn't hostile to me like last time. There was a woman next to him, an omega who seemed eager to see me.

" Pauline, let's go," Levy called when he saw the woman didn't follow him.

My gamma, and friend, Decan, held my shoulder in pity.

" I guess we have to wait," He said to my dismay and I narrowed my gaze.

" Aren't you going to tell me to do something grand or just go in there to get her back?" Decan was a lover at heart, he loved the idea of Love even though it had failed him several times.

" No," He said with a smile that made me uneasy, clearly something was brewing in his head.

I just couldn't go back like that. I waited in my car at the border. The guards there brought us food and water that we took gratefully especially now that Decan was complaining of boredom.

" Just a little longer," I told him.

" She's not coming, and it's late," He sighed and got out of the car to interact with the guards. I closed my eyes and wished my mate was with me. I must have slept in the car because when I woke up, Decan was driving us back home.

" What the f*ck, man," I yelled.

" Oh, I didn't know we were supposed to spend another entire day there," He said, speeding. I groaned and got out as soon as the car stopped.

" I'm back now and will solve all your problems as quickly," He hollered. I only glared at him but was happy that he was back from the camps, he enjoyed training the young ones. The following day, I was looking at my computer anxiously, hoping to receive an email from Caliana or Levy, she did say that she will communicate and we can meet but it didn't come. Night came and I decided to visit my daughter's suite, I haven't been the best father lately and I needed to do better for her. I opened the door and found her face-timing with someone on her iPad.

" Hey, princess," I called and she looked at me with a huge smile that instantly warmed my heart.

" Daddy, I missed you!" She jumped into my arms. " You're never home," She said, embracing me tighter.

" I know, and I'm sorry. I'll be home more," I told her and she nodded. I put her down and stroke her hair.

" Who were you talking to?"

" Ellis, my new friend,"

" A boy?"

" He's just a friend," She rolled her pretty eyes.

" Good, because you're six years old and I don't want you to have boy boyfriends," I told her sternly and she smiled.

" I'll be seven soon, dad," I sat on her couch and sat on my lap as she updated me on what was going on in her life, Ellis was mostly that and I disliked the boy already.

" I'm going to the pack he's visiting tomorrow for a playdate, do you want to take me there?" She asked and I shook my head.

" Shame, you'd love to go if you knew where it was, dad, I'm so excited!" She squealed. Decan entered the room and smiled as Love got off my lap to hug him. He whispered something I didn't hear and the two laughed.

" What are you whispering about?" I asked.

" Has Love told you which pack she's going to for a playdate?" He asked.

" Dandelion Pack, right in Cali's house," They announced.

" What? How?"

" We arranged it, uncle Decan, Ellis, Pauline, and I," Love said. I kept opening my mouth until I closed it.

" We've been planning for this for a while now, we knew Caliana won't make it easy for you and whenever Pauline tries to explain the truth of what happened, she immediately shut her up, so you have to tell her yourself," Decan informed me.

" How do you even know the omega?" I asked.

" It doesn't matter," He retorted.

" But Caliana doesn't want me in her pack,"

" Well, you're going there as my dad and also Caliana promised to bring Ellis to Jace's party in three days so that if you won't convince her tomorrow, you can during the party!" I kissed my baby girl several times and she giggled.
